At the start of December 2023 when interviewed by CNN Abby Philip asked him if anything that Israel has done since October amounts to a war crime he replied “Of course not”.

On December 19, 2023, The Hill reported that “Fetterman has remained steadfast in his support of Israel” and that the “Pennsylvania Democrat has argued Hamas bears responsibility for the ongoing violence in Gaza” despite Hamas not being the ones dropping over 22,000 bombs and blockading the entirety of Gaza, killing and injuring thousands of civilians and children in the process.

John Fetterman believes Israel has not committed any war crimes because “Israel must destroy Hamas”. He blames Hamas for the deaths of Palestinians. He also made news for waving an Israel flag in front of pro-Palestinian protesters.
